I think,
you are not from this planet. |
DJ
ACID BUZZ |
Since
2006, DJ
Acid Buzz (aka Josef Gaffl) appeared in many clubs between
Mexico City and Minsk, but the guy from Austria was doing more than
just spinning vinyl records. He is photographer, multimedia artist,
festival organisator, club host and producer of a weekly radio show
in Linz, where he put up his tents several years ago. In 2003 he started
the culture exchange project Kingdom
of Illusions, which has staged 80 events with more than
200 artists in Serbia, Belarus and Austria so far. |

Josef Gaffl considers himself as a gipsy, travelling with record cases and discovering the world with cameras and sound recorders. "I don't want to be a kitchen artist and I refuse to live in a virtual slum like Youtube or Myspace. Sorry, but you won't find me in such ghettos. They are populated by millions of creative people - and all of them are starving, while the landlords of such platforms are cashing billions of Dollars. I don't want to be connected only with an invisible audience - I want to smell the club and feel the waves of happiness coming back from the dancefloor", he says. "It does not matter, if there are 50 or 5.000 people - but these people must be real." |

DJ Acid Buzz believes in dancefloor revolutions. Think Che Guevara with earphones, who has brought his explosive stuff in his record case - then you are on the right way. "I don't care for commercial music trends and I don't imitate DJ superstars. My selection is always influenced by the vibes coming back from the audience, my stuff is full of energy, it is rough and dirty. It is stuff for people, which want to discover something which is new and surprising", says DJ Acid Buzz. "I don't play for other deejays. For me, the only music experts are the people on a dancefloor. My job is not to give them, what they can get everywhere - I have to give them, what they need to be happy.” |
